A Homemade Cooling Device Powered by Fire
Greenhill Forge built a cooling system powered mainly by fire. Water in a low-pressure chamber boils at a low temperature and absorbs heat as it evaporates. Circulating salt water captures the vapor.
The setup still uses some electricity for pumps and fans. In an initial test with ambient air around 16°C, the cooled section reached roughly 5°C.

Burning a fire to make something colder sounds backward. Salt water does most of the work while electricity takes a supporting role.
