A Robot With a Simulated Fly Brain Tries to Escape Approaching Humans
GitHub - 12sqawdwq/FlyHead: FlyHead: a whole-brain FlyWire fruit-fly connectome (138k-neuron LIF, PyTorch/CUDA) driving a real wheel-legged robot over ROS 2. LiDAR looming -> LC4/LPLC2/LC9 -> descending neurons (DNp01, DNa02, MDN) -> escape & obstacle avoidance. SLAM navigation, simulation, offline
FlyHead uses a computational model of fruit-fly neural circuitry to guide a wheeled robot. When a person approaches, it can react with fly-like evasive movements.

Humans built the robot, but its fly brain tells it to flee when humans come near. Not the friendliest robot.
