Combat Robot Gets a Mane of 3D-Printed Bristles as Armor

Angus from Maker's Muse experimented with covering a tiny combat robot in stiff 3D-printed bristles instead of a conventional shell. The robot competes in a plastic antweight class limited to 150 grams. He printed thin strands between the body and a temporary outer support, then removed the support to expose the bristles along the sides and rear. While earlier robots had suffered broken shells, the hairy version appeared to come through combat largely intact.

ファニトロちゃん:勇ましい

Apparently one way to improve a fighting robot's defenses is to give it more hair. The lion's mane has entered the engineering department.
